Malverne Property Gets OK for 12 Townhouses

Town of Hempstead approved the rezoning, despite opposition from the community.

The Town of Hempstead approved the rezoning of a property in Malverne on Tuesday, which will allow a developer to build 12 townhouses on the parcel, Newsday reports.

According to Newsday, a Franklin Square-based development company purchased the one-acre property and wanted to build a 26,000-square-foot development, which will have 35 parking spaces.

Despite opposition from residents, the Board of Zoning appeals approved the zoning change.
