Malverne Schools Creating New Language Program For Pre-K Kids

Parents can register their 3- and 4-year-olds starting soon. The program is free for Malverne School District residents.

The Malverne School District announced Saturday morning program for preschool children that will focus on language improvement, cognitive growth and social development.

Instructed by certified elementary teachers, children who are 3 or 4 years old by Dec. 1, 2017 and who are toilet trained are eligible to participate in the program. The program is free for interested Malverne School District residents and will be held at Maurice W. Downing Primary School, 55 Lindner Place, Malverne, from 9 to 11 a.m. on Oct. 7, 14, 21, and 28, and Nov. 4, 11, and 18.

Registration for the program will take place in the main lobby of the Maurice W. Downing Primary School on Saturday, Sept. 16, and Saturday, Sept. 30, from 9 a.m. to noon; and on Monday, Oct. 2, and Wednesday, Oct. 4, from 3:15 to 5:15 p.m.

In order to register, you must bring the following documents: driver’s license, mortgage papers/deed (lease agreement with notarized affidavit, if you rent), current utility bill, school tax receipt, updated immunization papers and the child’s original birth certificate.
