Malverne Student Awarded Diversity Essay Prize
Junior Ashley Akaeze won second prize in the Suburban Diversity High School Essay Contest.

Malverne High School junior Ashley Akaeze won second prize in the Suburban Diversity High School Essay Contest that was co-sponsored by Hofstra University and Bethpage Federal Credit Union.
She was chosen based upon her essay on racial integration and is now eligible for a scholarship prize to be used at the college of her choice. For her submission, Malverne High School will receive $100. Akaeze will be honored at the Celebration of Suburban Diversity Banquet on Nov. 11 at the Crest Hollow Country Club.
