Motorcyclist Dies In Crash On Southern State Parkway

Police say he hit two cars and was then thrown from his motorcycle.

A motorcyclist was killed after a crash on the Southern State Parkway on Saturday.

According to state police, at 11:05 p.m. on Aug. 31, Joseph Montano, 29, of New York City, was heading east on the parkway on a 2003 Yamaha motorcycle near exit 16 in Malverne. Police say he was speeding when he struck the back of a 2003 Lincoln Navigator, and then struck a 2014 BMW which was entering the parkway.

Montano was through from his motorcycle by the crash. He was taken to Mercy Medical Center, where he died from his injuries. No one else was injured in the crash.
