Nassau Man Sentenced For Fatally Stabbing 21-Year-Old
The body of Sumeet Singh was found on the side of the Southern State Parkway last January, where he was left to die.

A Franklin Square man was sentenced on Monday to 18 years to life in prison for stabbing a man to death and leaving him on the entrance ramp to the Southern State last year.
Camari Hurley, 24, pleaded guilty on May 11 to second-degree murder.
“This defendant brutally stabbed his 21-year-old victim and callously left him to die on the entrance ramp of a highway,” said Nassau County District Attorney Madeline Singas. “Thanks to quick police work and our prosecutors this suspect has been brought to justice.”

On Jan. 11, 2017, at about 9:15 p.m., 21-year-old Sumeet Singh was found near the entrance ramp to the Southern State at exit 15N in Valley Stream by drivers. When police arrived, they found Singh bleeding from multiple stab wounds. Officers heard Singh say that Hurley had stabbed him.
Hurley was found about a half hour later a mile from the scene, his clothes covered in Singh's blood.

Singh was rushed to Winthrop Hospital, where he died form his injuries, which included a lung perforation and blunt force trauma to his head. An investigation revealed that the two had a dispute earlier in the day.
