Long Island Swim School is the teaching arm of the nationally ranked Long Island Aquatic Club. Our Learn to Swim programs create strong, safe, and confident swimmers for life. With locations in Garden City and Syosset we train over 2,000 children each week at every swim level from Beginner to Olympian. Long Island Swim School offers swim lessons for children ages 2 - 14years old. The main emphasis of our programs is to teach children to swim correctly and develop essential water skills in a relaxed environment. Our goal driven and technique oriented approach is the key to your child's success. Through skill based quality teaching our students develop a joy for learning and a passion for swimming. Nassau Police are asking for the public's help to find a hit-and-run driver who <a href="https://patch.com/new-york/malverne-lynbrook/man-killed-hit-run-driver-lynbrook">struck</a> and killed an 84-year-old man in Lynbrook earlier this month. On Tuesday, police released a photo of what the car may look like. It is not the actual car that was involved in the crash, police said.According to police, an unidentified man was crossing Merrick Road from north to south when he was struck by a car in front of 130 Merrick Road near McDonald's at 9:07 p.m. on Dec. 3. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say the car that fled eastbound was gold colored, possibly a Ford or Lincoln Mercury.Crime Stoppers, which offers a reward of up to $5,000 for info that leads to an arrest, is asking anyone with information about this incident to call its toll free hotline at 1-800-244-TIPS (8477), or contact Det. John Lapine or any member of the Nassau County Police Department's Homicide Squad VCARS at 516-573-7788.
