New York American Water Investing $260,000 in the Village of Lynbrook

Main Replacement Project Will Improve Water Quality and Service Reliability

New York American Water (NYAW) will be investing $260,000 in water distribution infrastructure in Lynbrook. The project involves replacing 940 feet of aging eight-inch water main, originally installed in 1930.

Beginning Sept. 5, weather permitting, the water main along Piccadilly Downs (from Scranton Avenue to Surry Commons) will be replaced. The old water main will be replaced with new, eight-inch ductile iron mains that will help to improve water quality and service reliability. In addition, three hydrants will be replaced and 25 services will be replaced or transferred.

The replacement phase of the project will take approximately three weeks to complete. The final part includes resurfacing the roadway, which will be completed by the Village of Lynbrook road construction project.
