Pool Safety Tips!
1. Never leave a child unattended in a pool; always watch your child when he or she is in or near any water. Supervision is the key to safety.

3. Do not let anything or anyone distract you when a child is in or near a body of water.
4. Keep your eyes on the pool at all times.
5. Team up with friends and family when children are using the backyard pool.
6. Keep a cordless phone nearby so that you can immediately call 9-1-1 in the case of an emergency.
7. Learn CPR and insist that babysitters, grandparents and others who care for your child know CPR as well. Many local organizations offer certification classes that are both flexible and cost-effective.
8. If you have a ladder make sure it’s in the up position when the pool is not in use.
9. Never leave furniture near a fence that could make climbing over the fence possible.
10. Large, inflatable, above-ground pools have become increasingly popular for backyard use. Children may fall in if they lean against the soft side of an inflatable pool. Although such pools are often exempt from local pool fencing requirements, it is essential that they be surrounded by an appropriate fence just as a permanent pool would be so that children cannot gain unsupervised access.
Please have a safe and enjoyable summer season!
