Pastor Of Grace Lutheran Church and School to be Officially Installed

Grace Lutheran Church and School, Malverne, NY

Malverne, NY – August 25, 2017 – Grace Lutheran Church and School welcomed the Reverend David Anglada as their new pastor on July 1, 2017. Pastor Anglada will be formally installed his position at a celebratory service of installation on Sunday, September 17, 2017 at 3:00PM. The Reverend Dr. Stephen P. Bouman, Executive Director of the Domestic Mission Unit for the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) and former bishop of the Metropolitan New York Synod will be the guest preacher for this special event.

Reverend Anglada’s ministry experience has been varied and formally acknowledged. Prior to coming to Grace, he served as the pastor of the Lutheran Church of the Epiphany. In addition, he served as the Program Director, for Multicultural Leadership at the national office of the ELCA. In the years prior, he was the Assistant to the Bishop for Outreach under Bishop Stephen Bouman, and Spiritual Care Coordinator at Haven-Inpatient Palliative Care Unit for the Visiting Nurse Services of New York. Reverend Anglada sits on the governing boards for Lutheran Social Services of New York, as well as the Latino/Hispanic Leadership Team of the ELCA, the Latino Pastors’ Action Team of New York City, and Angel’s Unaware, Bronx, New York. Most recently, Pastor Anglada was recognized by the Evangelical Seminary of Puerto Rico, for “Excellence in Congregational Leadership.” He holds three Master’s Degrees and attended seminary at the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia where he was ordained in 1996.

Grace Lutheran Church has served Village of Malverne and the surrounding Southwest Nassau area since its inception in 1931. The church’s commitment and outreach to the community expanded with the founding of its school in 1962 to provide quality Christian education and now serves more than 300 students from 2 years of age to Grade 6.

The celebration service to be held on September 17 will involve participants from Grace Church and School and area clergy. There will be special music provided by the children and youth, and instrumental soloists as well as the choir of Long Island Lutheran Middle and High School. There will be a reception in the gymnasium following the service. All are welcome.
