Police Seeking Man Who Robbed West Hempstead Bank

The man wrote a demand note and handed it to the teller, police say.

WEST HEMPSTEAD, NY - Police are seeking a man who robbed a West Hempstead bank last month.

On Thursday, Feb. 25, a man entered the People’s United Bank on 50 Cherry Valley Avenue at about 4:57 p.m.

He wrote a robbery demand note and then passed it to the teller who complied with the demands and gave the man an undetermined amount of cash.

The robber is described as in his 20’s, with an average build, medium skin tone, and a mustache, police said.

He was wearing a gray hooded coat, blue jeans, black sneakers, black backpack, according to police.
