Store Clerks Nabbed For Selling Vape Products To Teens: Nassau PD
Police say they issued summons to the clerks as part of operation "Vape Out" this week.
Nassau County police arrested two store clerks for selling vaping products to underage customers during an operation on Thursday.
According to police, officers conducted operation "Vape Out" at various stores across the county to see if any were selling vape products to people under 21. The police used underage agents to try to purchase age-restricted products.
Police say that Chu Jian Zheng, 43, of Avenue P, Brooklyn, sold four JUUL Mint Pods to an underage customer at Happiness & Fortune Grocery, located at 246 North Central Ave. in Valley Stream. They also say that Melson Manigault, 22, of 244th Street, Rosedale, sold two JUUL Mint Pods to an underage customer at a Gulf station, located at 245 Linden Blvd. in Elmont.

Both men were issued appearance tickets for Town of Hempstead violations for the sale of age-restricted products. They are both due in Second District Court in Hempstead on Nov. 12.
