Young Singers Teach Parents Lesson in Gratitude
The Malverne Bible Church presented the Joyful Noise Choir in "Growing Up Grateful," a musical about appreciating life's simpler gifts.
The Malverne Bible Church was packed on Nov. 21 for the much-anticipated holiday performance of the Joyful Noise Choir. The youth singing group, which includes children ages 5 to 16, both members of the church and non-members from the community, worked for weeks on staging a show that would capture the true meaning of Thanksgiving.
"Growing Up Grateful" demonstrated the importance of faith and appreciating the simpler things in life through song, dance and skits. Dressed in their parents' clothing, the adorable and talented performers taught the grown-ups the values of being humble, compassionate, forgiving and most of all, grateful. It also drove home the message that children, like those in the show, learn by observing the actions of their parents, stressing the point that adults need to lead by example.
