• Apple Crime Log: Feds Bust $1.2M Apple Delivery Truck Hijacking (idropnews.com) — Federal prosecutors say three men hijacked an Apple delivery truck outside a Manhasset-area shopping center, allegedly stealing more than $1.2 million in devices after forcing workers at gunpoint into the vehicle. The workers eventually escaped and called 911, and the suspects have pleaded not guilty while being held without bail as authorities warn that high-value Apple shipments remain prime targets for organized theft.
   

• Manhasset student wins congressional art contest with message of peace (longislandpress.com) — A Manhasset High School 10th grader, Xinzi “Ayla” Wang, has won the 2026 Congressional Art Competition for New York’s Third District, and her painting will hang in the U.S. Capitol for a year. Her work, inspired by America’s 250th anniversary, uses a quiet scene of prayer and circling doves to call for unity, hope, and peace while highlighting her journey from China to Manhasset.
   

• High school sports roundup: Baseball, softball, lacrosse, flag football and badminton scores (newsday.com) — Manhasset’s baseball team fell 3-2 to Calhoun in the first round of the Nassau Class AA playoffs but still has an elimination game at top-seeded Garden City on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. The roundup also highlights other Long Island high school baseball, softball, lacrosse, flag football, and badminton results from Monday night, giving a snapshot of how neighboring teams are performing.
