Jed is a married father of three. He has chronic kidney disease and is in need of a live kidney donor as soon as possible. He is currently on donor lists at several hospitals in NY and NJ, but is holding a free community swab event on Tuesday, July 21st at 7 PM at Shelter Bay Yacht Club located at 10 Shelter Bay Drive in Great Neck, NY, 11024. The event will take place rain or shine and will have refreshments.
Those who can’t make the event and would like to find out if they could be a potential match can contact Renewal, an organization that helps match kidney donors and recipients at 718-215-8735 or by email at R26984@renewal.org. Donors do not need to take lifelong medication and are not restricted to a diet. Donors also return to a normal lifestyle within two-four weeks post-transplant, with Renewal available to cover lost wages. And living kidney donation is performed laparoscopically with minimal scarring.
