Ah, St, Isidore I knew you not,
UNTIL yesterday when
I hit update on my faithful Apple Ipad.

Feeling relatively confident (I admit to being a mite egotistical) I left the device to “do its own thing” and retreated for a scheduled luncheon.
Upon my return I optimistically initiated the transfer of data from the now older IPad (soon to be retired) but now updated to IOS 18.

Or so I innocently believed.
However, dear St. Isidore, I truly believe you were watching over me as I then remained in constant contact with the Apple support team.
Our communication continued for the next 12 hours well beyond my normal witching hour,
The current Apple mandated update (a normal process I have done without issue for the past decade) apparently deleted all my data (manuscripts for 14 books, 700 articles, my banking info, and even worse, my email and ALL of my passwords.
Oh, good patron Saint of the Internet, to put it politely I was in dire trouble.
And without your help, I believe I would or could not have survived.
And now I will also say an additional word of thanksgiving to Pope John Paul II.
Who In his great wisdom, declared you, St, Isidore of Seville, the Patron Saint of the Internet in 1997.
I wonder if he had a premonition about IOS 18?
