$50K Powerball Ticket Sold In Massapequa Park

MASSAPEQUA PARK, NY. — A Merrick Road mini mart doled out some big money Monday, as the New York Lottery announced that a third-prize-winning ticket in its Feb. 9 drawing had been sold at L R Cards Gifts, located at 4936 Merrick Road.

The third prize ticket earned its purchaser $50,000, after four of the five numbers selected on the ticket — and the “power ball,” selected from numbers between 1 and 26 — matched the numbers drawn Monday night. The non-power ball numbers were selected from numbers between 1 and 69.

Monday night’s drawing saw numbers 6, 19, 22, 28 and 48 pulled, with the power ball number coming up 24.

On Wednesday, the proprietors of the card store said they were excited to have sold the ticket, but that they didn't even know it had come from their store until a customer told them it had appeared on the news.
