Adopt a New Best Friend This Holiday Weekend!

Getting ready for the nice long weekend?  Why not include a trip to your local shelter on your list of things to do!  There are many great animals available for adoption this week, including Smith, Snow, Lucy, and Mookie!

Available at the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter is Smith (pictured). Smith is a big, handsome, hunky boy with beautiful blue eyes...enough to make any women swoon!  He is described by the staff as super friendly and very handsome.  Smith is 1 yr old weighing 70 lbs- what a hunk!

Also at TOH is Snow (pictured).  Sporting his very handsome pink bowtie is Snow, the 2 yr old hound mix who just happens to be a 56 lb bundle of love. Snow is super sweet and friendly with all he meets, so head over to the TOH Animal Shelter and fall in love with him today!   For more information on Smith, Snow, and the other great animals at the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter, please visit their website at http://toh.li/animal-shelter

Awaiting their forever home at Last Hope Animal Rescue is the artist formerly known as "Pia", now known as Lucy (pictured).  Lucy is a gorgeous 3-4 year old small Pointer from a West Virginia shelter. She is smart and active and will do best with a dog-smart and active owner (and/or family). Lucy loves to be the center of attention and responds well to training demands. She did well interacting with peeps and pups at a Petco adoption weekend and would love to be your new best friend.

Also available at Last Hope is this beautiful Maine Coon mix named Mookie (pictured).  Mookie was rescued from a life of hardship during one of Last Hope’s TNR programs this 2014 winter.  Mookie was found to be too sweet and gentle to be released back outdoors and so she has  been cared for and socialized by the volunteers at Last Hope.  Mookie is about 2 years old, loves being petted and brushed,  and longs for a forever home with a quiet family.  For more information on Lucy, Mookie, and the other great cats and dogs at Last Hope, check out their website at http://lasthopeanimalrescue.org/

Thanks for reading and please remember to help our homeless furry friends by always supporting our local shelters- don't shop, adopt!
