Adopt a New Pet While Having a Few Laughs!!

There are always great local dogs and cats available for adoption and this week is no different.  After reading about this weeks purrfectly perfect pets, find out how to help animals while laughing your socks off at Governor's Comedy Club!

First up, meet Big Bertha!  Yes it's true that Big Bertha weighs in at approximately 70 lbs, but don't let that fool you. Chances are she was given her name because she's got a big heart filled with love.  Bertha just arrived at the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter and would love to go home with you today!

Also available for adoption at the TOH Shelter is this charming guy, rightfully named Charming.  What a good boy this guy is... And right next door at Last Hope Animal Rescue is this adorable pooch named Giorgio.  When this young Border Collie/Aussie mix showed up as a stray in Kentucky, the shelter discovered that he had an orthopedic plate and pins in his rear leg. The pins started to protrude through his skin which became infected. Strangely, no owner claimed him after investing a lot of effort and money in his operation.   Then this handsome fellow about 3 years old came to Last Hope on a transport. Giorgio is happy and animated. Despite his ordeal, he will readily jump up on his hind legs during an exuberant “Hello”. As of 4/14, Giorgio had the plate in his leg removed by an orthopedic specialist and is doing great!  Last Hope is now looking for a good foster or permanent home for Giorgio...why not make that home yours??

And for all of you cat lovers out there,  and just in time for Mothers Day, please meet this dynamic mommy and daughter duo, Victoria and Tris.   These sweet gals were abandoned in Rockville Center, thankfully brought to Last Hope, and are now available for adoption.   Both Victoria and Tris enjoy being petted and held, and would love to be the new addition to your family.  For more information on Gorgio, Victoria and Tris, check out Last Hope's website at http://lasthopeanimalrescue.org.

Can't adopt but want to help local animals in need?  Get a group of friends together or come alone and meet new people for an evening that’s guaranteed to be full of laughs! Tickets are $20 (all of which is donated to Last Hope) and there is a two drink minimum (can be soda, coffee, etc.). They offer a full menu so come early and have dinner. There will be a selection of raffle baskets as well as a 50/50.
