• Liberty Utilities customers balk at its proposed water rate hikes (longislandpress.com) — Massapequa and Massapequa Park water customers served by Liberty Utilities' Merrick district could see monthly bills rise by about $21 if a proposed rate hike is approved. Residents across Nassau County are protesting, arguing they already pay far more than neighboring public water districts, while Liberty says higher rates are needed for infrastructure upgrades and water quality improvements.
