‘The Bachelorette’ Announces Massapequa Native Castmember Known As 'Johnnie Biceps'
The new season of ABC's hallmark reality dating show premiers March 22.

MASSAPEQUA, NY. — Massapequa is quickly becoming the cradle of reality television stardom, as North Massapequa native Johnnie LaRossa was announced as part of the cast for Season 22 of ABC’s “The Bachelorette.”
The newest season will premier March 22, as former “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” star Taylor Frankie Paul searches for “the one” among a cast of 22 men. Among those 22 is the man who refers to himself as “Johnnie Biceps.”
LaRossa has already taken to promoting his appearance on the show on social media, saying he’s, “trading cleats for cocktails.” In another post about the show, the former University of Hartford baseball player joked that the series’ cast announcement had failed to show off his teeth, which he called his “best feature.”

The 30-year-old had a brief stint as a pitcher in the Milwaukee Brewers’ farm system before playing six years of independent professional ball with the Tri-City Valley Cats, Missoula Paddleheads, Long Island Ducks, Lexington Legends and the Staten Island FerryHawks.
"Johnnie is a great catch — literally! This former pro baseball player is genuine, charismatic, and ready for a love straight out of the movies," LaRossa's cast bio reads. "Known as the life of the party, Johnnie thrives in any room he walks into, especially if there’s karaoke and a crowd to hype. His ideal date night is grabbing pizza and simply enjoying each other’s company. In his free time, Johnnie loves cheering on the Mets, hitting the dance floor, and playing team sports with friends. He’s searching for his teammate for life and hopes to finish this journey with Taylor by his side."
