Barktoberfest Fundraiser to Benefit 2 Local Non-Profit Pet Groups
The public and their family pets, are invited to enjoy the free Barktoberfest activities at Massapequa Pet Vet on Saturday, October 20, 2018
Massapequa Pet Vet Medical Center, a full service veterinary hospital, will host their annual “Barktoberfest” fundraiser on Saturday, October 20, 2018, from 12-4 pm at its facility located at 5330 Merrick Road, Massapequa, NY. All profits will benefit the Long Island Wildlife and Animal Rescue (LIWAR) and Volunteers for Wildlife, which are both non-profit organizations.
Massapequa Pet Vet's veterinarians and staff, invite the public, including their family pets, to stop by and enjoy the “Barktoberfest” activities, which features games, refreshments, adoptions, vendors, animal related rescue groups, training demos, a Bouncy Castle, food, and more. Admission is free; pets and their owners are invited. Prizes will be awarded for both the “Best Pet Costume” and the “Best Pet Trick” contests. An auction and raffles provided by local businesses will help to raise funds.
“My commitment to the health of all creatures – including the furry, feathered or scaled - motivates me every day,” said Dr. Horowitz, Massapequa Pet Vet owner and director. “My veterinary associates and I have decided to host the annual ‘Barktoberfest’ fundraiser in an effort to support non-profit animal organizations that share their commitment to helping people and animals live healthier lives.”
LIWAR (Long Island Wildlife and Animal Rescue) is a 501(c)(3), not for profit group medically and surgically treating, caring and providing rehabilitation for Long Island’s injured wildlife. LIWAR also rescues dogs and cats providing forever homes. These services are solely funded by generous donations from Pet Vet and the public.
Volunteers for Wildlife, Inc. is a nonprofit wildlife rehabilitation and education center dedicated to the preservation and enhancement of Long Island's wildlife and natural ecosystems. Their center is located on the grounds of Bailey Arboretum in Locust Valley, New York.
