After the ingredients were assembled and blissfully spinning in the ever faithful Cuisinart appliance, I returned to reading “How Many Rings Is Too Many?” written in the NYT by Vanessa Friedman.

I stopped wearing any rings other than the treasured white gold band that will forever embrace the third finger of the my left hand.
And I suddenly realize the seemingly never ending snow apparently has had two quite different side effects on my isolated world.
I rediscovered the absolute bliss of homemade Butterkurchen as well as the pleasure of owning a Cuisinart appliance.
And I made a long overdue decision to resurrect the rings that always gave me comfort and restore them to my fingers.
Today I temporarily forget the snow but wear rings on my fingers as I enjoy homemade butter cake along with a cup of very dark black coffee.
