Booze Banned, Trains Scheduled for Belmont Stakes
Trains scheduled, alcohol banned for Belmont Stakes, Puerto Rican Day Parade this weekend.
Eighteen trains will be hauling thousands of racegoers to the Belmont Stakes this weekend.
The final leg of the Triple Crown will draw thousands to Belmont Park Saturday and the Long Island Rail Road is prepping with special trains.
The 18 trains will operate between Penn Station and Belmont Park beginning at 9:45 a.m.

From Long Island, passengers can connect with Belmont trains from Jamaica beginning at 10:06 a.m.
Returning trains will run through 10 p.m. for those who stay for the concert after the last race.

Officials also announced a ban on all alcohol on Saturday and Sunday during the Belmont Stakes and the Puerto Rican Day Parade. Alcohol will not be permitted on LIRR trains, platforms, and in stations from 7 a.m. Saturday to 11:59 p.m. Sunday. MTA Police will be patrolling platforms and seizing any alcoholic beverages.
