Colloquialism…
Say what you mean; mean what you say.

Words are very important to civilizations and to the self. Each group or entity converses as was previously prescribed by its leaders and ancestors, which helps to form a cohesiveness and comprehension level.

In Biblical times, speech was clearer and more succinct, no grandiosity or literary orations, until Jesus. The Living Word spoke analogously with parables and paradoxes, that had many scratching their bewildered heads.

The informal, common-day mode of communication had been upped a notch, but not to confuse or impress, but rather to get one to think beyond the dictated routines, and ponder unimaginable horizons – an altered level of speaking and thinking.

Jesus outlined the seven corporal works of mercy centuries ago: Feed the hungry, Give drink to the thirsty, Clothe the naked, Shelter the homeless, Visit the sick, Visit the imprisoned, and Bury the dead.

It sounds straightforward and simple, yet these postulates still torment and segregate mankind. There are many options to professing the same thought, but fewer that will ignite a novel path for the upgrading of all.

With equity and justice taking a backseat for so long, it becomes apparent that revolutionizing communal mores can propel the articulation that will hopefully procure a fair and satisfying example.

If each day, everyone spoke of feeding the hungry (donating food, or time at a food bank or soup kitchen), Giving thirst ( beverages for the body, or the Soul as Jesus is the eternal life giving water), ensuring safe shelter, visiting those who require our support, what is now slang terminology would become our creed.

Change the way you speak, and transform the world. Which corporal works of mercy sings to you? Let’s secure it as our new dialogue with matching actions. Jesus stated,” Whatever you do to the least of my brothers, so you do unto me,” Matthew 25:40.
I can’t think of a better reason.

~ “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute,” Proverbs 31:81. ~
