Cops: Hicksville Man Placed Fake Orders to Fire Departments, Paid Commission

The man placed 12 fraudulent orders between July and August, police said.

A Hicksville man placed fraudulent sales for chemicals to fire departments across the country, authorities said.

Nassau County police say Michael F. Arbassio, 57, worked as a salesperson for Hicksville-based Camponil Electronics and Chemicals. Between July and August, Arbassio placed 12 fake orders to fire departments.

After submitting the fake orders, Arbassio received more than $1,000 in commission. But when the fire departments received the product, they contacted the Hicksville company to say they never placed the order.
