Defense, Rushing Attack Leads Chiefs Past Freeport
Five interceptions helped turn the momentum in Massapequa's favor.

The Massapequa Football team started its season off the right way with a 27-14 victory at Freeport High School Thursday.
Craig Berge led the defense with two interceptions. Paul Dilena, Jack Korber and Nick Nappi had picks as well, although Korber added a fumble recovery as well.
On the offensive side of the ball, Matt Caracappa was 8-for-17 for 84 yards and a touchdown, which was caught by James Byrns.
Nick Capuana led the rushing attack with 89 yards, but Dilena had two touchdowns while Caracappa added one as well. Massapequa scored all 27 of its points in the first half.
