Father And Son Charged With Assault After Grant Street Brawl, PD Says

A father and son are facing assault charges Wednesday for their roles in a Tuesday afternoon altercation, police say.

MASSAPEQUA PARK, NY — Two men are facing assault charges Wednesday morning after a verbal argument escalated into a physical one involving a baseball bat and a wooden rod, police said.

Nassau County police said 67-year-old Brian McKeon and 33-year-old Brian McKeon Jr. were involved in a verbal argument with a 34-year-old man at a home on Grant Street Tuesday afternoon. The argument escalated and became physical, at which point the two McKeons struck the unidentified man multiple times with a wooden rod and a baseball bat, police said.

The unidentified man was taken to the hospital for evaluation and treatment for his injuries while the McKeons were arrested, police said. Further investigation revealed the black baseball bat and wooden rod, police said.

In the aftermath of the altercation, McKeon and McKeon Jr. are being charged with second-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, police said.
