A young law enforcement officer, 31 years old, on routine duty was shot and killed without warning.
There have been many reports of violence lately.
All without reason and each equally tragic.
Perhaps I haven’t listened carefully enough or I would have understood their warnings.
The young husband and father who gave his life yesterday is another martyr.
His name may not be recorded in the Litany of Saints, but indeed it should be.
His son will grow up never knowing the young Dad who died on Monday of Holy Week, 2024.
His young wife will now face life as a single parent.
And everyone who reads about the dedicated warrior who gave his life protecting others will feel their heart break.
