The Massapequa Chiefs picked up their first softball win of the new season Wednesday, beating Long Beach, 8-5 at berner Middle School.
The Chiefs received some hitting heroics by Alyssa Zinkiewicz who drove in three runs.
Zinkiewicz doubled twice, walked and scored a run.

Monica Capolongo provided the power with a home run over the center field fence. She went 1 for 3 and also scored two runs.
Kate Carmody pitched three innings and Kim Giurlando hurled four to keep the Long Beach batters in check.

Massapequa upped their record to 1-3 while Long Beach fell to 2-3.
The Chiefs travel to face Carey High School on Friday while Long Beach hosts Syosset.
