Heroin Task Force Arrests Pair After Long Island Crash
A 24-year-old man drove across a front lawn and crashed into a brick wall and two cars while fleeing officers Thursday, police say.

MASSAPEQUA, NY - Two people were found to be in possession of more than 70 glassine envelopes of heroin following a crash in Massapequa Thursday morning, Nassau Police said.
According to detectives from the Nassau/Suffolk Heroin Task Force, Shamiek T. Porter, 24, of Farmingdale, was driving a 2013 BMW west on Beach Street in the vicinity of Carmen Boulevard around 11:20 a.m. when detectives attempted to pull the vehicle over.
Porter then drove over a sidewalk and across a front lawn before striking a brick wall, a mailbox, a basketball hoop and two parked cars before coming to a stop in front of 24 Beach Street, police said. No injuries were reported.

Porter was found to be in possession of 20 glassine envelopes of heroin and an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.
A passenger in the car, 24-year-old Lindsey Wild, of Lindenhurst, was found to be in possession of over 50 glassine envelopes of heroin, police said.

Porter and Wild are each charged with third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Porter is also charged with third degree criminal sale of a controlled substance. They will be arraigned on Friday at First District Court in Hempstead.
