Home Health Aide Charged With Stealing $600 From 65-Year-Old Massapequa Park Woman: Police

BREAKING: The woman surrendered to police on Sunday.

MASSAPEQUA PARK, NY - A home health aide was arrested on Sunday for stealing $600 from a 65-year-old Massapequa Park woman back in August, according to Nassau Police.

Long Beach resident Whitney Bell, 23, stole a blank check from the Massapequa Park residence where she works on August 5, police said.

She then wrote the check out to herself and deposited the $600 to her personal TD Bank account, police said.

After the check was cleared, Bell then withdrew the funds on Sept. 17, police said.

An investigation led to her arrest on Sunday when she surrendered to Nassau County Police.

She is being charged with petty larceny and will be arraigned on Monday, police said.
