Kemp Hannon Loses 6th Senate District In Shocking Upset
BREAKING: In unofficial results, Democrat Kevin Thomas has unseated the 28-year incumbent senator.

In a shocking upset, longtime incumbent Kemp Hannon seems to have lost his state Senate seat to challenger Kevin Thomas.
Hannon has represented the 6th SD since 1990. But with all precincts reporting in Tuesday night, Thomas earned 51,635 votes compared to Hannon's 50,327 in unofficial numbers.
The Sixth State Senate District covers: Bethpage, East Meadow, Farmingdale, Franklin Square, Garden City, Garden City South, Hempstead, Hicksville, Island Trees, Lakeview, Levittown, Malverne, Massapequa, Old Bethpage, Plainedge, Salisbury, Seaford, Uniondale, Wantagh and West Hempstead.
