It was because of her dedication that I was introduced to the Ladies of the Madonna Heights Auxiliary and the devoted Sisters of The Good Shepherd who were the caregivers for the countless young women entrusted by the court into their care.

Many of the original Auxiliary members have departed this world and others have relocated or in poor health. Barbara boarded the mythical ferry this year after a lifetime of generosity and service to others. However, she left a legacy that will endure due to Charlotte and Finn, two of her grandchildren and the 4th generation of the Tyree family.
The two young adults have volunteered to run the Thanksgiving Drive for 40 families and help those in need.
With the help of other young friends and acquaintances, they will collect food and gift cards and assist with the distribution the evening of the event.
Their decision and choice to continue helping others initiated by their Grandmother in 1972 will make Thanksgiving 2024 memorable for 40 Long Island families in need.
