LI Woman Drove High With 5-Year-OId In Car: Nassau Police

Police say they found her passed out behind the wheel, parked in the middle of the street.

A North Babylon woman was arrested on Friday after police say she was driving high with her 5-year-old daughter in the car.

According to police, officers saw a 2009 Acura stopped in the middle of Hicksville Road in North Massapequa at 4:24 a.m. on Friday, May 18. When they investigated, police say they found Tasha R. Hudson, 43, of Scott Avenue, passed out in the driver's seat, and a 5-year-old girl in the back. Police say Hudson was driving under the influence of drugs.

The young girl was released to a relative, and Hudson was taken to Nassau University Medical Center for evaluation.

Hudson is charged with aggravated DWI under Leandra's Law, endangering the welfare of a child, aggravated unlicensed operation, DWAI drugs, criminal possession of a controlled substance and a vehicle and traffic law violation. She will be arraigned when medically practical.
