Loaded Gun, Ammunition Recovered From Man At Massapequa Motel: Police

EAST MASSAPEQUA, NY — A man was taken into custody Monday evening at the Budget Inn Motel in East Massapequa for carrying a loaded gun.

Police arrested Tyreek Sullivan, 26, of Louisville, Kentucky.

Detectives initially observed Sullivan standing alone, when a taxi entered the parking lot. As Sullivan got into the taxi, a silver and black-colored firearm was spotted on his waistband, authorities said.

A fully loaded .40 caliber weapon was recovered with 10 rounds of ammunition. Police also recovered three orange pills believed to be amphetamine/dextroamphetamine, detectives said.

Sullivan faces charges of criminal possession of a firearm, criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

He was due for arraignment on Tuesday.
