Man Charged With Thefts at Massapequa Group Home

The 23-year-old was arrested on Wednesday.

A 23-year-old man living in a group home in Massapequa was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly stealing items from two other people at the home, police said.

Desmind K. Yarborough is charged with fourth degree grand larceny and second degree burglary.

According to police, Yarborough removed and hid a gold necklace from a 58-year-old male resident at the home located at 3 Camp Road. Yarborough was arrested without incident and transported to the Seventh Precinct for processing.

During the investigation, it was discovered that on Sunday, Oct. 25, Yarborough forced his way into the locked room of a 46-year-old male resident at the group home and removed two Casio keyboards.

Yarborough will be arraigned on Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead.
