Man Robs Teen Near Massapequa Elementary School

The man threatened to stab the 15-year-old with a knife, according to police.

MASSAPEQUA, NY — A man robbed a teen after threatening to stab him with a knife across the street from a Massapequa elementary school on Monday afternoon, according to Nassau Police.

The 15-year-old was walking northbound on Unqua Road across from Unqua Elementary School by Marjorie Post Park with another juvenile at about 3:45 p.m. when he was approached by an unknown man, police said.

The man had his hand in his pocket, simulating holding a knife, and threatened to stab the teen if he did not give him his property, police said.

The teen complied and handed over an undisclosed amount of cash. The man fled on foot in an unknown direction.

No injuries were reported.

The robber is described as a white, about 5-foot-10, in his 30s with a medium build wearing a Mets shirt and a black jacket, police said.
