Man Tries to Resist Arrest For Illegally Dumping Garbage in Massapequa: Police

The man "flailed his arms" to try to escape cops, police say.

MASSAPEQUA, NY - A West Hempstead man attempted to run away from police on Tuesday night while he was being arrested for illegally dumping garbage in Massapequa last month, according to Nassau Police.

On March 5, Benny Baez, 34, was found to have illegally dumped garbage on a construction site on Clocks Boulevard, police said.

Upon arrest, Baez, "flailed his arms" and ran out a side door of his home to avoid being placed into custody, police said.

No injuries were reported.

Baez is charged with petty larceny, criminal tampering and resisting arrest, according to police.
