Massapequa Actors Find Their Corner Of The Sky

Production of 'Pippin' wowed audiences at Massapequa High School.

MASSAPEQUA, NY - From Massapequa School District: The story of King Charlemagne’s son came to life during Massapequa High School’s production of “Pippin” from March 2-4. The story followed a sorrowful lad who returned from university longing for a life of excitement and adventure.

The title role of Pippin was played by Matthew Ferrugia. Other lead roles including Erin Russo as Catherine, Alexandra Zografos as Fastrada, Zachary Goldberg as Charlemagne, Antoinette Corigliano as Berthe, Christina Scala as Lewis, Nolan Tucker as Theo and Sebastien Diaquoi as Leading Player.

The two-act “show within a show” featured two dozen musical numbers. Presented by the music department, there was a Thursday afternoon performance for senior citizens followed by Friday and Saturday night shows. It was directed by Kathryn Tauches. The pit orchestra was led by Eva Arnold and the technical crew was led by Daniel Wahl. Sets were built and designed by art and technology students under the direction of Gale Domingo and James DeSantis.
