Massapequa Blood Drive Set For April 2
The Town of Oyster Bay is hosting the blood drive, and is encouraging residents to donate.
The Town of Oyster Bay announced that it will be holding a blood drive in Massapequa on April 2, and everyone who is able to is encouraged to come donate.
The blood drive will be held at Town Hall South, at 977 Hicksville Road in Massapequa, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. All donors will receive a coupon for a free Blizzard from Dairy Queen, and will also be entered into a raffle to win a four-pack of tickets to a Mets game.
To qualify as a blood donor, a person must between the ages of 17 and 75 years old (16 with parental permission and 76 or older with a doctor's note), weigh at least 110 pounds and not have donated blood within the last 56 days. Anyone who received a tattoo within the past 12 months is ineligible to donate. It is recommended that volunteers eat well (low fat) and drink fluids in the days before they donate.
