The Massapequa Coast 12-year-old Williamsport team suffered a stunning season ending loss Sunday falling 3-0 in Levittown, to a Sunrise team they had beaten a day earlier.
Top seed Massapequa couldn't get their bats going during the semifinal game against fourth seeded Sunrise, and fell behind early when starting pitcher Tyler Ruth gave up two runs over the first three innings.
But Ruth kept them in the game giving up only one more run in a 4 1/3 inning stint.

Sunrise wasn't fooled by a two out bunt, and threw out the runner at first base to end the game.
Despite the heartbreaking loss coach Matt Donofrio stressed the positive "We won eight or nine straight to get here, and we won the district, " he said.
"You just have to be proud regardless of the result."
