The Massapequa Chiefs girls soccer team tore through the Freeport Red Devils in a 7-0 shutout that saw the Chiefs put on a clinic of fancy footwork that left their rivals in the dust.
The match, hosted at Arkinson middle school, brought the Chiefs one step closer to a flawless season as they ready themselves for playoffs.
Freeport just didn't seem to have the finesse or discipline that Massapequa displayed on the field, often leaving opponents unguarded while bickering amongst themselves at the match progressed.

The Chiefs' Jackie Kennedy scored the first goal of the game at 5:01 in the first half. Shortly afterwards her teammate Vanessa DiSilvio made two unsuccessful attempts on goal, one a kick, one a head-butt.
Before the end of the first half, Massapequa's Nicole Raab and Erica Modena scored goals number two and three, respectively.

Almost all of the action in the second half remained in the Red Devils' end zone; many attempts by Freeport to get the ball into Massapequa territory were quelled by the Chiefs' superior teamwork.
As the match went on, the Red Devils' frustration became all the most evident; their coach continuously screamed at the team from the sidelines.
Before the second half ended, the Chiefs had scored four more times, with Madalyn Pimental bagging two goals (one on a header), and Jackie DiMartino and Taylor Elliot each blasting a shot into Freeport's net as well.
Massapequa head coach Bruce Stegner was pleased that his team served up yet another landslide victory.
"It was a good game, because a lot of people had a chance to play today," he said. "Overall, considering the field's condition is a little rough, I thought the girls did quite well. It was a good, clean game, and we were aiming to get another shut-out which is what we did. We've only given up two goals this year."
The Chiefs' winning ways have clearly bred a great deal of pride in Melissa Maine.
"We played really hard like we always do," she said. "And we just took the win like champs."
Madalyn Pimental said that she and her teammates always watch out for each other on and off the field.
"We go to practice every day, and we work as hard as we can, and I think that it shows in the games," she said. "We all click and we're all trying our hardest to make each other look good and keep our shut-out that we have so far."
Nicole Raab said her team relies heavily on their superb coaching to bring home the big wins.
"We always try to take what we learned in practice and bring it onto the field," she said. "Today we got a lot of crosses in, used what we learned, work as a team, and we always click well together...it's always so fun."
Immaculate Heart Academy hosts Massapequa, now 13-0-1, for their last game of the regular season on Tuesday, October 26.
