Massapequa High School Musicians Heading To All-State

The student musicians will be performing in a special concert in Rochester at the end of the month.

From Massapequa School District: Ten student-musicians from Massapequa High School were selected as participants and alternates for the 2018 New York State School Music Association All-State Winter Conference, which will be held from Nov. 29 to Dec. 2 in Rochester.

Thousands of students auditioned for this honor last spring at the NYSSMA solo and ensemble festivals held throughout the state. Vocal selections from Massapequa include seniors Alayna Carroll, Antoinette Corigliano, Maria Leonardi for the Women’s Treble Choir, juniors Sarah Benedict and James Kelly for the Mixed Chorus and junior Julianna Mpazicos for the Women’s Treble Choir. Alternates include seniors Jaclyn Deternova and Kimberly Livingston. Junior Jack Dubyn, a French Horn player, was chosen for the Symphonic Band and senior Kayla Grady was selected on double bass for the String Orchestra.
