Massapequa Man in NJ Drug Bust

Arrested with Amityville man for allegedly carrying ecstasy.

A Massapequa man and an Amityville man were arrested in New Jersey for allegedly carrying $10,000 worth of ecstasy, prosecutors said.

Eric Earl, 23,  and Thomas Trant, 22, were stopped by officers in Ramsey, N.J. on Monday, according to the Bergen County Prosecutor's office.

Detectives found 19 ecstasy capsules and eight ounces of powder inside their vehicle, authorities said.

They were also allegedly carrying a few grams of marijuana and $4,406.00 in cash.

Earl, who lives in Massapequa, and Trant were each charged with one count of possession of more than five ounces of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.

They were held on $50,000 bail in the Bergen County jail.

The arrests were the result of an investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotic Task Force, the Upper Saddle River Police Department and the Ramsey Police Department.
