Massapequa Resident is Selected to Serve at the Congress of Future Medical Leaders in Boston

Jaclyn Urzia, a 16 year-old Massapequa resident, was selected to represent her school, St. Dominic's High School of Oyster Bay, and the state of New York, in Boston this year. Every year, an academically outstanding student who has demonstrated strong humanitarian efforts, is selected to attend The Congress of Future Medical Leaders, for their annual event in June.

The Congress of Future Medical Leaders was created by the National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists to help gather many of the country’s finest high school students who aspire to careers in medicine and single them out for special recognition and ongoing mentorship. All attendees are selected by their teachers or the academy based on proven academic excellence and a demonstrated desire to enter the medical profession. All students must have a minimum 3.5 GPA to be nominated.

The Congress brings these young Delegates face-to-face with winners of the Nobel Prize, award winning young inventors and scientists, deans from the top medical schools, Ivy League academic leaders, interesting patient cases, and introduces them to different aspects of the Medical field.
