Massapequa Scouts Walk The Freedom Trail
Massapequa's Boy Scout Troop 660 recently walked Boston's Freedom Trail as part of their "Citizenship in the Nation" requirement.
Massapequa’s Boy Scout Troop 660 recently toured Boston and walked The Freedom Trail as part of their “Citizenship in the Nation” requirement. The scouts enjoyed the 16 historic landmarks that the 2.5 mile trail took them to visit. Following the trail marked by a painted and at times, a bricked red line, they saw Paul Revere’s home, Boston Common, and King’s Chapel to name a few famous places.
Along with visiting national historic landmarks, learning about the significance of national monuments, touring federal facilities, understanding the branches of federal government are other the requirements needed. This trip was very significant for the older scouts working towards earning their Eagle Scout rank, as it is a mandatory requirement.
