Massapequa's McKenna School Gets New Assistant Principal

Mary Anne Ferraro has more than a decade of elementary school teaching experience in the district.

Mary Anne Ferraro has been appointed as the assistant principal of McKenna Elementary School in the Massapequa School District. She has been an elementary teacher in the district for 14 years, and most recently taught second grade at McKenna.

Ferraro, a Farmingdale resident, attended Massapequa schools from kindergarten through 12th grade. She holds her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in literacy from Dowling College and earned her school building leadership certificate from the New York Institute of Technology.

She has a strong knowledge of the elementary curriculum, having taught first, second, third, fourth and sixth grades during her time in the district. In her new position, she will work closely with the principal, teachers and staff to create an engaging and challenging learning environment.
