Nassau Car Salesman Robbed At Gunpoint At Dealership

Police say the robber pretended to be interested in buying a car then pulled out a pistol.

MASSAPEQUA PARK, NY — A car salesman was robbed at gunpoint Friday morning and Nassau police are seeking the public's help to find the perpetrator.

According to police, a man entered Top Choice Auto Inc., located at 4700 Sunrise Highway in Massapequa Park, at 11:40 a.m. He asked about purchasing a car and a 52-year-old salesman sat down with him to discuss it.

After they sat, police say the man pulled out a pistol and demanded the victim's money and belongings. The victim gave over his cell phone, a Rolex watch, cash and other items. Police say the robber ran off onto Sunrise Highway. The salesman was not hurt.

The robber was a black man about 25 to 30 years old, 6 feet, 1 inch tall, 180 pounds and with a medium build. He was wearing a gray hoodie, dark jeans and a black face mask.

Police ask anyone with information about this robbery to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS, or to call the Seventh Squad at 1-516-573-6753. All callers will remain anonymous, and you could receive a cash reward if your information leads to an arrest.
