Nassau Police Rescue Women Who Were Lost In Woods

MASSAPEQUA, NY — Nassau County police rescued two women who became lost in the woods of the Massapequa Preserve Thursday evening.

According to police, two women, ages 63 and 64, became disoriented and lost in the woods of the preserve around 5:20 p.m. Officers responded to the scene, and a police helicopter also arrived to help with the search.

The helicopter used an infrared camera to locate the woman, and then used a large spotlight to help guide them to the officers.

Neither woman was injured.
