UPDATE: Nassau Police Respond To Report of Shots Fired
Bureau of Special Operations called in; no arrests made.
Nassau County Police and the Bureau of Special Operations cordoned off a house in East Massapequa after two unnamed males playing with a toy airsoft rifle resulted in a report of shots being fired Friday afternoon, according to officer Maureen Roach of the Nassau County Police's Public Information Office.
The two suspects were seated on an outdoor, second-floor balcony at the back of the house at the corner of Clocks Boulevard and Elizabeth Street. Bureau of Special Operations agents gained entry to the backyard area and kept the two males under watch, weapons drawn, until their fellow agents could enter the house and take the two into custody.
Once the weapon in question was determined to be an airsoft rifle and not an actual firearm, the two males were released. No one was arrested or injured.
